“Hello! Saw your work on ……….., ! Hit me up man!”
These were basically the first words I received from Tyler Weinrich. One of many regarding shooting a cover and supportive imagery for his next Album. That is him above, you’ll find out about the girls later.
Above and below are one of the many inserts/extras we shot.
But I’m getting way ahead of myself. Let me back up and start over earlier that day.
I first met Tyler in the parking lot of The Hotel Menage in Anaheim where the shoot was scheduled to take place.
This is also where I first met Hunter Hill who was directing the shoot. We introduced ourselves to each other and Hunter then promptly dropped a bottle booze which shattered and spilled everywhere. Nooooooooooo.
Now normally some may see that as a bad sign, but for me that meant it would be smooth sailing the rest of the way. Anything bad happening was now behind us. As it turned out, I was right.
With that past us we quickly started setting up and visually going over and talking about the shoot inside the Hotel Menage Suite.
Then the cast started to arrive.
Tim Bressler, Ali Dariotis, Natalie Priest and Natalie Panattoni all did a great job.
Even with two Natalies in the same shot to give posing directions to (see above & below) everything went well. Everyone in the cast was wonderful and fun to work with.
The concept for the cover was a juxtaposition of sorts. With potentially a side by side sort of a clean/dirty Tyler and a top and bottom version as well.
There is a bit of time before Tyler’s Album comes out. He is currently working with Mary J Blige’s producer out in NYC. However, until then you can keep up and hear some of his music at www.myspace.com/tylerweinrich or at www.facebook.com/tylerweinrichmusic .
Hunter also has a clothing company that is called “Semi Popular Clothing”. Kool stuff, check them out!
Andre Barranon does great work as a hair stylist ( 530-635-3988).
A special thanks to Chris, Richard, and Amy from Hotel Menage and to Monique for giving an extra hand or foot when needed!
Of course a big thank you to Tyler Weinrich. I’m looking forward to hearing a lot more from you!
