So Wikipedia says that a lookbook is a collection of photographs compiled to show off a model, a photographer, a style, or stylist or a clothing line. Though almost always when people mention a lookbook they are most likely talking about a clothing line. Anything else is commonly called a portfolio. So when I mentioned to my friend and designer Cheri Elizabeth that she might want to consider creating a lookbook, we both knew exactly what I meant and what the end result would be.
Cheri has two main collections, her great Cheri Elizabeth Collection of designer gowns and dresses and her wonderful wedding gown collection Embrace Bridal Boutique. I shot both collections. The challenge with a lookbook shoot is to give it life despite shooting on the usual clean white studio backdrop. Having great models helps and I was lucky to have Jennie Jay and Kami Feinblatt and great team members like MUA: Christine Hula and Hair Stylist: Melissa Poon.
